I watched the womens triathlon yesterday.
This morning it was the turn of them men.
Couple of things about the bike part. THEY ARE ALLOWED TO DRAFT!!! I don't know a lot about triathlons, but I know that this is a drafting event. What also struck me as odd were the bikes. But then it makes sense. You would not want to have a full aero bike in a drafting triathlon for the same reason you don't show up at Ontario with one.
The bike leg of the competition is basically a criterium. So now it turns into this mass blob of cyclists who can handle their bikes a notch under road cyclists, except they have already a 20-minute balls to the wall effort in their legs, which ultimately yields crashes.
Very strange that they would allow drafting... i think it takes away the essence of what the bike leg in triathlon is... a TIME TRIAL.
Don't know how many agree with me on this one, but looked pretty lame... the bike part at least.
