The opening round of the 2008-09 UCI Track World Cup Classics kicked off in England on Friday as two Americans were in action on the first day of the three-day competition. Shelly Olds posted the best result for the small U.S. contingent on Friday with a eighth-place effort in the womenandrsquo;s 20-kilometer womenandrsquo;s points race, while Becky Quinn finished 10th. Olds scored seven points to land the top placing behind a seven-woman group who lapped the field mid-way through the 80-lap event. Quinn, who earned points in three of the eight sprints, earned six total points to grab the 10th spot overall.
